Every year, a number of families in our communities cannot afford to provide their children with holiday gifts. This can be due to illness, loss of employment, or even loss of their home. That's why Richfield Bloomington Credit Union (RBCU) has partnered with Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP) to provide holiday gift donation locations in its offices. The gift donation will run from November 16 through December 11.
"RBCU has had a long relationship with VEAP," said André Thibault, Assistant Vice President of Marketing at the credit union. "Each year, our members show wonderful genorosity by bringing new, unwrapped gifts to our office collection sites."
This is not the only VEAP cause that RBCU supports. "We also work with VEAP as a donation location for their back-to-school supply collection," said Thibault. "It is very gratifying to know that RBCU and its members are helping so many kids in our communities -- in their educational pursuits and during the holiday season."
In 2006, VEAP served over 1,600 families and 3,500 children with groceries and toys for the holiday season. In 2007, those numbers are expected to increase again.
