Rising educational costs have most students looking for financial aid of some kind. One possible source is your local credit union. This year, RBCU is proud to present three separate scholarship opportunities.
Richfield Bloomington Credit Union Scholarships:
It pays to be an RBCU member – literally! Seven (7) scholarships of $1,000 each will be granted by the credit union. Only RBCU members are eligible for these great awards. So if you know someone heading to college that would qualify to join the RBCU family, encourage them to become members and apply for this terrific opportunity. Contact either office, visit the RBCU website (www.rbcu.org), or call 612-798-7100 to have an application mailed to you.
The deadline to apply is March 1, 2008.
$8,500 in Scholarships Available From FIC:
The Minnesota Family Involvement Council (FIC) is offering $8,500 in college scholarships to Minnesota credit union members, or the children, grandchildren or dependents of credit union members throughout Minnesota. Two $1,000 scholarships and thirteen $500 scholarships will be awarded in the spring of 2008.
Those interested in applying need to complete an application form and write a 500-word typed essay that answers the question: “How should your credit union prepare you for life?”
Application packets and instructions are available for interested members in the RBCU offices, or online at www.mnfic.org/scholarships.html.
The FIC Scholarship application deadline is February 1, 2008.
Richfield Retired Educators
Association Scholarships:
R.R.E.A. Scholarships are open to Richfield students and
the children of Richfield public school staff members.
Current seniors, students presently in college, and those
returning to school are eligible to apply. The scholarship
may be used for any post-high school educational
program that is accredited or state approved. The
applicant must have passed the Basic Skills Test. This
past year, the RREA was able to award four $1500
scholarships.
Applications for scholarships will be
available in the Richfield High School Guidance Dept.
after Feb. 1, 2008.
