Plans for the Honoring All Veterans Memorial to be built in Veterans Memorial Park in Richfield have the full support of Richfield Bloomington Credit Union. In addition to the $5,000 donated to the Memorial in 2007, an additional grant in the amount of $10,000 has been approved for 2008. This latter donation is to go to the "Sponsor-A-Vet" program which is intended as a way to provide financial assistance to honor a veteran to those that might not otherwise be able to afford the cost.
André Thibault, Assistant Vice President of Marketing at RBCU said the credit union chose to support the Sponsor-A-Vet program because, "We believe strongly that every Minnesota veteran or family of a Minnesota veteran deserves the opportunity to participate in this memorial."
The memorial is intended to honor the service of US Military Veterans from all military branches and provide a place for people to reflect and thank those who have served, are serving, or will serve our country. All six branches of service are acknowledged. This includes: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Merchant Marines and Navy.
