FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 16, 2010

During a small ceremony at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 12, ground was broken on Phase One for the new branch office of Richfield Bloomington Credit Union. Located in the Oxboro neighborhood near 96th Street and Lyndale Avenue in east Bloomington, the new branch will include safe deposit boxes, drive-up lanes, and a drive-up ATM. The first phase of the project is expected to be complete in the fall of 2010. Future phases of the project may include additional office space, as well as street-level retail space.

“This is an exciting event for Richfield Bloomington Credit Union, our members, and the Oxboro neighborhood,” said Pat Brekken, President of RBCU. “This project has been two years in the making, and we’re excited about the many financial solutions this branch will provide for area residents and businesses.”

Attending the event were City Council Member Karen Nordstrom; Maureen Scallen Failor and Anna Stinson with the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce; Tom Kendall of Kendall Commercial Advisors; Tom Hannasch of McGough, Russ Schramm with HTG Architects, and several RBCU board members and staff.
