Bloomington, Minn. (March 2, 2011) – RBCU celebrated its new branch on February 24, 2011 with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house. RBCU opened the doors to its new branch at 9550 Lyndale Avenue South in Bloomington at the site of two former gas stations. The new branch is part of an effort to revitalize the growing Oxboro neighborhood, build RBCU’s membership and in turn increase the reach of their community giving.
In addition to celebrating its new building with the ribbon cutting ceremony, RBCU also recognized its long-standing relationships with four Bloomington-based nonprofit organizations by presenting $1,000 checks to VEAP, Companies to Classrooms, Cornerstone, and Bridging.
Local civic, business and credit union leaders attended the event, including Bloomington Mayor Gene Winstead and Richfield Mayor Debbie Goettel, as well as members of each city’s Chamber of Commerce.

Membership at RBCU is currently open to people who live, work, worship, volunteer, or go to school in the communities of Richfield, Bloomington, Edina, Fort Snelling, or the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport. Relatives and people living in the same household with existing RBCU members can also join.
