Bloomington, Minn. (May 11, 2011) – RBCU is officially celebrating its newest branch with an open house week spanning May 14 to May 21. RBCU opened the doors to its new branch at 9550 Lyndale Avenue South in Bloomington at the site of two former gas stations. The new branch is part of an effort to revitalize the growing Oxboro neighborhood, build RBCU’s membership and in turn increase the reach of their community giving.
This Lyndale Avenue branch location will host a document Shredding Day during the morning hours of Saturday, May 14. Members who bring a non-perishable food donation for VEAP may have up to 5 boxes of documents shredded by an on-site Shred-N-Go truck.
From May 16-20 every RBCU branch will have refreshments in their lobbies. However, it is only at the Lyndale branch that members will find entry forms for a prize drawing. In addition, during the morning of Saturday, May 21, a mini-donut truck will be parked at the Lyndale branch location for the benefit of the RBCU members.
Membership at RBCU is currently open to people who live, work, worship, volunteer, or go to school in the communities of Richfield, Bloomington, Edina, Fort Snelling, or the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport. Relatives and people living in the same household with existing RBCU members can also join.
